While visiting Victoria Embankment Gardens, I stumbled across this majestic grey heron. He had spotted some tasty koi carp in one of the park’s ponds and seemed to be waiting to fish one out when no one was looking.
He was quite comical to watch. He casually strolled up, looking everywhere apart from at the fish in the pond and stood as still as statue at the pond’s edge. Luckily for the beautiful koi carp, there were many visitors. This didn’t discourage Mr Heron though. He wasn’t going to give up his dinner so easily. He just positioned himself on a nearby stone urn, looking down his beak at passers by, and waited patiently.
